Cheryl has been teaching music for nearly 4 decades. She has taught in K-12 rural schools and K-6th grade in both inner-city and suburban schools. Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting and directing from the University of Montana and a Master of Music from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has created countless after-school and before-school performance groups, including drum ensembles, Orff ensembles, recorder club, and theatre clubs, and directed many children's musicals.

Cheryl is currently working full-time teaching elementary general music to PreK-6th-grade students in Centreville, VA, for Fairfax County Public Schools. She has always taught in public schools in Montana, California, Nevada, and Virginia.

Cheryl lives in Ashburn, Virginia with her husband and two cats.
